Can you tell me more about the odd visions Retrospec users receive from time to time?

I can... but it depends upon what you want to know. I can tell you a little of mine, and how they've happened. I could tell you how it felt afterwards.

But it really does depend on what you're asking. There could be many things to share.

I suppose... When do they appear? That's my first question.

[She looked for something to relax against. This might be a long conversation. The first question, though, was logical and simpler.]

We don't know. Most of the time, something triggers it. Seeing a gun might cause you to see a vision that involves guns. Looking into a campfire might show someone something of a fire, or campaign. I was in a water gun fight when I remembered something once.

[She sighed, raking her fingers through her hair.] But it isn't guaranteed. Sometimes it's ... just random. No warning, and Retrospec once offered to just give people one if they won a contest.

[She just sighs in irritation.]

Do they come back immediately after the trigger, or some time later?

[true_noir]

If triggered, it is usually right then. Sometimes they flash back again, but usually it happens right when they are triggered. that is at least consistent.

... I see.

Do they ever come in the form of dreams, for example?

[true_noir]

No, not for me or anyone I know, though they feel kind of like a waking dream, if that makes sense. They can be very surprising when they come.

I had a dream of fighting a monster, but I was unsure if it was a vision as described, or simply a very strange dream.

[true_noir]

It... I am not saying that it couldn't be a dream, but it may have just been that. [She shrugged.] There's too little that we know about it.

if you see more of this, or if something you saw in it appears here at some point, that's a good sin it was a vision.

It happened the night after fighting one of these strange insects, so I was unsure.

I will keep that in mind. I hope I don't have to fight more strange insects to trigger more of these visions.

It could very easily just be a nightmare. After all, a praying mantis or centipede of this size would give most people nightmares.

...Well, think of it this way. A water gun fight triggered a memory of a real gun fight. It doesn't need to risk your life, no?

... Perhaps Tatsuo's classes will help trigger more, in that case.

Though I am unsure I want to trigger more.

Tatsuo? [She blinked as she looked at him.] Do you have reason to think it involves something in the classes?

And, I could understand not wanting to. They seem to come, like it or not.

The one vision I have seen so far involves fighting. Martial arts seem as likely to trigger it as any other ideas I have.

I see. [ahem] I've had some of the same, so it does make sense. Just know that it is hard to force them. It seems that, when we try to get more, we tend to fail, like it doesn't like to be forced by us.

... I wonder if there's a reason for that?

It might be because we don't really know what triggers them. That is the only thing I can think of, really.
